Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) asks the Ministry of Finance to abolish import customs duties on food, industrial equipment, ingredients and packaging materials, which have no analogues in the Russian Federation. This is stated in the chamber’s proposals for the draft tax policy guidelines for 2021 and the planning period of 2022 and 2023 regarding the development of individual sectors of the economy, support for import substitution and demand. A letter with initiative was sent by the head of the CCI Sergey Katyrin to the address of the state secretary – deputy finance minister Alexei Sazanov. “[It is proposed] the abolition of import customs duties on food products not produced in the Russian Federation, agricultural and industrial equipment that has no analogues in Russia, as well as on ingredients, packaging materials and other goods used in the food and processing industry”, letter, a copy of which is available from TASS. According to Katyrin, this proposal is aimed at supporting Russian business.
