The Central Bank estimated the growth of foreign direct investment in Russian companies at 38%

Foreign direct investment in Russian companies in January-June 2019 increased to $11.6 billion from $8.4 billion for the same period last year, the Central Bank of Russia estimates the balance of payments of the Russian Federation for the second quarter of 2019.

Thus, the volume of direct investments of non-residents of the Russian Federation in Russian companies grew by 38% in the first half of the year. Moreover, as the central bank of the Russian Federation calculated, in the second quarter of this year, foreign direct investment in Russian companies remained at the level of the same period last year and amounted to $2 billion.

The amount of foreign investment in Russian companies on transactions approved by the government increased in 2018 by 40% to 630 billion rubles.

“According to the results of 2018, the amount of foreign investment in Russian business companies on transactions approved by the government commission amounted to about 630 billion rubles (the amount of transactions and the volume of investments in accordance with business plans for the development of companies), which is 40% higher than in 2017”, - said the head of the Office of Foreign Investment Control of the FAS Russia Olesya Milchakova.
